Craig Taylor

"A teachers' teacher!"

"Craig's work is full of individual ideas and that different way of looking which begins to alter your perspective in a consistent and lasting way."
Steve Biddulph

Craig leads Attitude Matters, a school advisory service/education consultancy, specialising in Engagement Learning.

He works in the state and private sectors to deliver teacher training and professional development, runs residency programmes in schools and consults privately with parents.

"I began Attitude Matters in 2008, with the view that I could inspire more creativity with greater integration in more schools and help more children and more families as an independent company than as a head teacher in a single school."

He has worked in the steiner system in Australia, Germany and in the UK, taught at university, in the state sector and in prep schools - hugely contrasting methods and views on education.

"There is only one really genuine way of knowing what works - and that is to be able to deliver it for children, represent it to parents and command respect from your colleagues. I have always sought this grounded and practical way of understanding different approaches to working with children. It seems to me to be vastly more respectful than studying the fish bowl from a distance.

This way I have an empathy for the different systems grounded in experience and with understanding learned at the coal-face ."

What Craig offers is unique.
His enthusiasm is refreshing - his work, inspiring.

"Outstanding - Insightful, sincere & engaging. Genuinely helpful - Highly recommended"

Attitude Matters

Attitude Matters work is to support the development of character and well being in children.

"There is an old fashioned word for the body of skills that emotional intelligence represents - character." Daniel Goleman

Attitude Matters works with children and with the adults who teach and care for children to create educational situations which help them to engage with their learning and the environment and build the foundations of character - experiences which develop the senses of empathy and integrity.
